Reaction Time Test
Our Mission & Methodology

Engineering High-Precision Reflex Measurement

Reaction Time Test was built to provide competitive gamers, athletes, researchers, and curious minds with an open, sub-millisecond precision benchmark of human sensory-motor speed.

The Problem with Traditional Reaction Tests

Most web-based reaction tests suffer from hidden technical bottlenecks: JavaScript event-loop lag, browser click release delays (~20-40ms), uncompensated display refresh intervals (60Hz frame buffering), and inconsistent sampling. These inaccuracies lead to distorted scores and frustrating user experiences.

Our platform addresses these constraints by leveraging the browser's monotonic high-resolution clock (performance.now()), synchronizing screen paints with requestAnimationFrame, and utilizing zero-latency pointer listeners (pointerdown).

Core Pillars of Our Platform

1. Statistical Reliability

We champion the 5-Round Benchmark. A single reaction can be influenced by luck or momentary distraction; standard deviation and 5-attempt averaging capture genuine consistency.

2. 100% Client-Side Privacy

All timing computations, personal bests, and attempt logs run entirely inside your browser. No reaction data or personal identifiers ever leave your device.

3. Scientific Honesty

We clearly disclose hardware variables (monitor refresh rate, Bluetooth latency, touch scan delay) and frame categories as non-clinical benchmarks.

Who Uses Reaction Time Test?

  • Tactical Esports Players: Calibrating angle-holding reflexes and flick speed in titles like Counter-Strike, Valorant, and Apex Legends.
  • Motorsports Enthusiasts & Track Athletes: Training launch reactions off starting gantry lights and acoustic starter guns.
  • Cognitive Self-Trackers: Monitoring the impact of sleep duration, caffeine intake, meditation, and fatigue on mental alertness.
